Hibernian-linked midfielder Kian Leavy is hoping to secure a move into European football as uncertainty continues over his future at St Patrick’s Athletic, according to reports in Ireland.
Leavy is approaching the end of his contract with St Pat’s and is among six players currently in discussions with the League of Ireland club over a possible new deal.
The 42.ie reports that the 24-year-old is understood to favour continuing his career in Europe rather than moving to a club in the UK.
However, should Leavy remain in the League of Ireland, his preference would be to extend his stay with the Inchicore outfit.
The midfielder has attracted interest from Hibs, Aberdeen, Doncaster Rovers and an unnamed Swedish club following an impressive period with St Pat’s.
Hibs' interest was first reported during the summer transfer window, but with a new manager in place, they may well have moved on to other targets.

Hibs and the Dons both ran the rule over Leavy, who can count Drogheda United and Reading among his former clubs, during a 2-0 victory over Sligo Rovers in June.
Leavy’s performances at club level earned him senior international recognition earlier this year.
He made his Republic of Ireland debut during the summer, coming off the bench in the second half of a 1-1 friendly draw with Canada.
That appearance completed a significant rise for Leavy and strengthened his profile as he considers the next step in his career.
For now, a new agreement with St Pat’s remains possible. However, he appears keen to explore the prospect of testing himself elsewhere in Europe before committing his future.
