Hibs Women have been dealt a blow after two key players turned down new deals.

Prolific American striker Jorian Baucom and Scotland international defender Leah Eddie will both depart the club this summer, with five others due to move on following the expiration of their contracts.

The Hibs Observer understands club chiefs made significant offers to 27-year-old Baucom and Eddie, 23, in the hope of retaining their services but both felt their futures lay elsewhere.

Arizona native Baucom signed from Portuguese side Damaiense and became a crucial member of Grant Scott's side, hitting 28 goals throughout the season. Eddie, meanwhile, has been a mainstay of the defence since the 2018 season and has skippered the side on occasion.

Both players contributed heavily as Hibs reached the semi-finals of the Sky Sports Cup and a top-six league finish in Scott's first season back in charge.

Club captain and stalwart Joelle Murray had already confirmed her retirement from professional football at the end of the 2023/24 campaign while goalkeeper Nina Wilson, midfielder Naomi Powell, and attacker Brooke Nunn are also leaving following the expiration of their contracts. Goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor, who signed a six-month loan deal, is due to return to parent club Brighton.

Further contract talks are planned with goalkeeper Katie Fraine, defender Shannon Leishman, midfielder Shannon McGregor, and forward Kirsty Morrison while Eilidh Adams, Tegan Bowie, Rachael Boyle, Mya Christie, Lauren Doran-Barr, Abbie Ferguson, Siobhan Hunter, Poppy Lawson, Rosie Livingstone, Micky McAlonie, Ellis Notley, and Lia Tweedie are all under contract for next season.
